Polestar Announces Plans to Produce new Electric Model in Slovakia

Polestar is to manufacture the all-electric Polestar 7in Kosice, Slovakia, in advance of the planned launch of the premium compact SUV in 2028. Polestar has also announced that it has selected Volvo Cars as development and manufacturing partner for the Polestar 7

The new model will be developed in accordance with the company’s recently announced strategy to use architectures from within the Geely Holding Group. 

Polestar 7 will utilise a technology base from Volvo Cars, benefiting from group component sharing, cell-to-body technology with next-generation battery density and performance, as well as the next generation of in-house developed e-motors. 

Construction started on the Volvo Cars factory in Kosice in 2023.

Headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, Polestar's cars are available in 28 markets globally across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
