Kia Corporation has unveiled the Concept EV5. The all-electric SUV concept took centre stage at the Kia Chinese EV Day.
The Concept EV5 provides a preview of a production all-electric SUV model that will be launched first in China later this year.
Kia says the new model's interior with swivel seats and a completely flat floor, 'breaks down barriers between outdoor and indoor spaces to afford uninterrupted views of nature'.
To showcase the brand’s sustainable development strategy, various sustainable items are deployed, including plant-based materials like seaweed extract and upcycled PET bottles on the seats, doors, dashboard, and headliner.
Karim Habib, Executive Vice President, and Head of Kia Global Design Center, says: “The Kia Concept EV5 takes influence from the contrast and complementarity of natural landscapes and man-made architecture. It is designed to inspire our customers on every journey, while providing sustainable and environmentally responsible solutions. Created for those who seek inventive new ideas, the SUV brings together emotional form language with innovative, user-focused interior architecture.”

The Concept EV5 offers a glimpse into the aesthetic direction of Kia’s future fully electric models.
