BYD has presented the BYD SEAL U DM-i to European consumers for the first time at Geneva International Motor Show 2024. The five-seater model is a D-Segment plug-in hybrid SUV.
It is the first BYD vehicle in Europe to use the brand’s Super DM Technology that prioritises electric driving with ultra-low fuel consumption and energy efficiency.
The DM-i (Dual Mode) technology integrates the highly efficient engine, the electric hybrid system, a tailor-made Blade Battery and the AC/DC On-board Charger.
The electric hybrid system prioritises electric drive with less reliance on the engine for power for optimum efficiencies through ultra-low fuel consumption.
There is the option of fast DC charging - 30-80% in 35 minutes (18kW power).
It will be available to European customers from Q2 2024.
In a press release, BYD states: 'An ideal family-sized car, the five-seater BYD SEAL U DM-i is a fusion of elegant dynamic style, high-tech intelligent experiences and practical SUV functionality (the U standing for Utility), producing a highly desirable, affordable vehicle that is more compassionate to the environment, without compromising on range or performance'.

BYD Europe is headquartered in the Netherlands and is the first overseas branch of BYD Group,
