Bosch Engineering & X Shore Develop new Electric Drive System for Silent, Connected Boats

Bosch Engineering and X Shore, the Swedish technology company behind a generation of fully-electric, silent, connected boats, have announced a collaboration to improve the performance and efficiency of the electric drive system of the X Shore 1. The X Shore 1 has been fitted with Bosch’s largest motor on the market for leisure boat applications, as well as the Bosch inverter and  gearbox.

The collaboration stands to enhance and develop its electric drive system - improving on power thanks to its lightweight design, increasing efficiency through design and software set-up.

This is designed to save time and costs due to the elimination of maintenance efforts.

A fast charger takes the boat to 80% in 50 minutes. 

Depending on conditions and driving style, it offers 50 nautical miles on one charge.
