Genesis, the premium arm of Hyundai, unveiled the GV60 to Europe at Salon Prive last month.

The GV60 is the company’s first electric car built on a dedicated EV-only platform and marks Genesis’ “first step” on its electrification journey.

To find out more about the company and why its offering is so different to other, more established carmakers in the UK and around Europe, Auto Futures caught up with Andrew Pilkington, Genesis UK’s Managing Director.

With Salon Prive taking place at Royal Hospital Chelsea and being surrounded by expensive automotive exotica, the GV60 still managed to turn the heads of the well-heeled crowd.

With “transparent” pricing and flexible ownership models, as well as the Genesis “personal assistant,” the company is charting a markedly different course compared to more established marques.

Whether the GV60 proves to be a solid EV and, more importantly for Genesis, a sales success, we’ll have to wait and see. However, you’ll be able to find out all that, and more, with Auto Futures in the coming days.
