Zeelo, the UK’s smart bus-sharing company, has announced the launch of Zeeride, its technology platform for operators. Zeeride is an independent marketplace which allows operators of any size, large or small, to quickly digitise their fixed route and shuttle services.
Operators who join the platform can offer pre-booking via individual tickets and subscriptions, vehicle tracking and service-reporting features without the hassle or cost of building and maintaining the technology themselves.
After beta-testing the product will be rolled out to Zeelo’s overseas’ markets.
Luke Ryan, Zeelo’s Head of Growth, says: “Until now, the digital customer experience provided by coach and bus operators has lagged behind the expectations set by how we order a ride with Uber, or how we order food with Deliveroo. Covid-19 has made digitalisation more important than ever; and is causing a rush to get services online. For our industry, the safe return of services means the need to ensure safe occupancy levels and for contact tracing.”
He adds: “After working in partnership with a few UK-based operators to test the platform, we’re now ready to help more operators with the safe restart of their September school services, corporate shuttles and leisure services. Later this year, we plan to scale up the Zeeride product across Italy, South Africa and a number of new regions whilst adding additional features including a white-label offering for larger operators.”
Zeelo transports more than a million workers a year to offices belonging to the likes of Amazon and Jaguar Land Rover.
