Technology company Arrival has announced that automotive veteran Mike Ableson has joined the organisation as CEO of North America.
Ableson will bring 35 years of valuable automotive experience, using his time as part of GM CEO Mary Barra’s senior leadership team to help Arrival build, develop and expand its next-generation EVs.
Under Barra, Ableson was tasked with future-proofing GM’s global strategy and roadmap to address challenges in crashes, pollution and congestion that come with growing urbanization and ever-changing transportation landscape.
The former Vice President of EV Infrastructure and Global Strategy at GM will report directly to CEO of the Arrival Group, Denis Sverdlov.
“I am delighted to be welcoming Mike to Arrival – a highly respected automotive veteran. He has unrivaled OEM and mobility startup expertise having been pivotal in bringing vehicles to market around the world and mentoring startups,” says Avinash Rugoobur, Chief Strategy Officer, Arrival Group.
“Mike joins us at an exciting juncture as we begin to emerge from stealth mode and step out onto the global stage. He will be invaluable in realising our ambition of bringing Generation 2.0 Electric Vehicles to the masses and is best placed to bring Arrival to the US market.”
