To drive or not to drive. That’s the question posed by BMW which has today unveiled the BMW Vision M NEXT. It’s a sports car concept where drivers will be able to choose whether they wish to be driven or do the driving themselves.
In ‘Boost Mode’, the driver of the BMW Vision M NEXT does the driving with maximum support from the driver assistance systems, whereas the ‘Ease Mode’ takes care of the driving autonomously.
Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. says: “The BMW Vision M NEXT provides a glimpse into the future of sporty driving.”
He adds: “Where the BMW Vision iNEXT illustrated how autonomous driving is set to transform life on board our vehicles, the BMW Vision M NEXT demonstrates how state-of-the-art technology can also make the experience of driving yourself purer and more emotionally engaging. In both models, the focus is firmly on the people inside. Design and technology make the ‘EASE’ and ‘BOOST’ experiences more natural and more intense.”
BMW says the Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer, together with Renzo Vitale, sound designer at the BMW Group, composed the sound for the BMW Vision M NEXT in his London and Los Angeles studios.
