Ride-hailing giant Uber is to pilot its electric bike service JUMP in London. 350 bikes are now available to rent. Electric JUMP bikes are already available in cities in North America, Spain, Belgium and Portugal. Its e-scooters are in Madrid and Paris.
JUMP was originally founded as Social Bicycles in 2010. In 2018, the company first partnered with and was acquired soon-after by Uber.
JUMP bikes can be viewed and reserved the Uber or JUMP app. Bikes reserved in advance can be held for up to 15 minutes. The company says reservations are automatically cancelled if the bike is not unlocked within that time.
